About

Hello, I am Hitesh.

Photo coming soon.

I was born and raised in Mumbai, in a family that has been in business for three generations. Business was the dinner-table conversation long before it was my job.

I started working at 18, in 2008, in BPO jobs. At 21, in 2011, I started my own company, Rebels Consultancy, a recruitment firm. Young as I was, I found myself sitting across from HR managers and vice presidents of large companies. Over the years I recruited for companies including Accenture, Wipro and Infosys in IT, and Edelweiss, HDFC Securities and Motilal Oswal in banking, financial services and insurance.

In 2015–16, when venture funding in India was still new and rare, I went through the funding rounds and was about to sign. I chose not to, because I knew I was not ready. It was one of the most useful decisions I have made. It taught me to stay grounded and to understand a business properly before taking on someone else’s money.

Later I started another business, in manufacturing and supply. When the COVID lockdown came, we supplied scrubs, operation gowns, masks and caps to doctors and hospitals. Today the business makes uniforms for schools and hospitals. I learned a great deal there too, mostly the hard way, and some of it is in the notes.

These days I follow business, the economy and world news closely, and I invest my own money in US-listed companies. I am not a financial adviser, and nothing on this site is advice. It is simply what I have seen and what I think.

Why Rebels Consultancy is back

I have restarted Rebels Consultancy as a place to share what I have learned, to listen to the problems you are facing, and to learn from the community as well. If it helps you think a little more clearly about your business, that is enough.
